One thing I always worry about is getting my work out there and getting to work in areas that I really like (such as tattooing and piercing) and after simply going to get a piercing I now have a great gateway into working with really talented artist and potentially a new model.
Although I didn't really think about writing about it before, it does go with what I have just written....A few months ago I attended a burlesque fan dancing lesson and asked the instructor, who is a burlesque dancer at Swansea's Blue Stocking Lounge , if I would be able to photograph any of the shows they put on, she told me that they already have a photographer (Miss Moth Photographic Arts/ Miss Moth Burlesque) but if I emailed them I would probably be aloud to go along to rehearsal and take photos which was great! But this is something that I am going to pursue when we come back after summer. I also was attending Pole Dancing lessons at Pole Pride Swansea and as part of a project for Eva I asked if I would be aloud to photograph the building it was held in and my instructor was fine with it, but I then thought that (again after summer) I could see if they would let me photograph some of the lessons to get something new for my portfolio and to try photographing something new. And finally I did intended to do it this year but I will defiantly be doing it next year is rock climbing, yet again, something I am interested in and something I think would be really good for a portfolio and a new interesting way of shooting.
The reason that I have made a blog post about this is because I think it is important to remember that a great way, maybe even the best way to get new contacts and potential work is to just go out into the world and do the things you love.
